Social Networking – Chase The Sun – Jan Rynsaardt Guitarist

Posted in social networking on February 10th, 2011 by Daryl Williams – 2 Comments

I was looking through some footage we shot back in 2004 for our community television program Fandangle. One of the musicians, who I thought played amazing guitar was Jan Rynsaardt. We have seen him perform with the band Chase The Sun in Canberra (Australia) at the Old Canberra Inn and a couple weeks ago in Sydney (Australia) at the Coogee Diggers RSL. He has matured as a musician and his lead guitar style is outstanding.

Back in 2004, Jan was in a band called, oddly enough, Rynsaardt. Now in 2011, after looking at the footage of Rynsaardt, I felt it would be a shame to leave it in a box gathering dust. As a historical record of Jan Rynsaardt’s talent I decided to put it on Youtube.

Who Is Altiyan Childs?

Posted in social networking on November 24th, 2010 by Daryl Williams – 22 Comments

To some people Altiyan Childs is a weirdo, a recluse, a hermit, a social misfit. How many of us have been teased, put down and cast aside by society? That’s the curse of being an artist.

Altiyan Childs has always wanted to be part of the fraternity of musicians. He has struggled for twenty years to fulfill his dream. He had his chance with the Australian X-Factor reality television program and it looked like he lost at the first audition.

Who is Altiyan Childs?

How To Start A Blog

Posted in Blog Content, social networking on November 23rd, 2010 by Daryl Williams – 3 Comments

Have you ever surfed the internet, searching for a subject that you feel is important. After searching the internet for hours, or may be a day or two, you may end up saying ‘If only someone would provide some decent, relevant information about this subject!

The reason why there may not be so much information on the subject you’re searching for, is because, not many people know enough about the subject.

Or you may find after doing a lot of searching, that you can see a different perspective on the subject that no one else has considered or talked about.

In a previous article I explained what is blogging, blogger and blog.

What I’m suggesting is that you start writing your own blog. You can write about what you have found and how it’s relevant to the subject that you and probably others are looking for.

Using Social Networking To Share Your Photos

Posted in social networking on September 22nd, 2010 by Daryl Williams – Be the first to comment

Image by Daryl Williams Flickr Stream -  When you go on holidays do you take photos of the sites you see? Most cameras are digital which means there is no more chemical processing involved. Once you have taken some photos you can save them on your compter hard drive or burn them on a CD. But what happens when you have saved them. Unfortunately some of us just store the photos in a hidden place and we forget about them.

Do you share your photos with your friends, family and other people on flickr?

There are a lot of blog sits and websites on the internet that will show you how to use social networking. Most of these articles are for the intermediate or advanced users. What about the people who have just started using the internet?

I thought I would write this article as an introduction to the internet for beginners.

How many times have we heard some people say that they hate modern technology? It’s usually the oldies that say this. Well my brother is one of these people. Just this week he got his first mobile phone and he is talking about connecting to the internet thingy. That’s right. He has never used a mobile phone before and has never been on the internet. He has heard about the internet but he doesn’t know what Youtube, Google, eBay, Facebook, Twitter etc is. Can you imagine what it would be like, if you were in a coma since 1960 and you woke up today and saw all the technology that we have at our finger tips. Wouldn’t you be afraid. Don’t worry my brother wasn’t in a choma. This is only an analogy. But how do you explain, let alone teach people like my brother, how to use this technology?

It gives me feedback on the information I am blogging about and ideas of what I can write about. One thing that stood out with the comments was that no one has an avatar that shows the uniqueness of their persona. Wouldn’t it be nice if the visitors had an avatar that compliments their comments. Well in this article I will show you how you can have an avatar show automatically on the comments you make on this website.
